DOLPHIN PROMOTIONS TO PRESENT INAUGURAL NEW YORK 20th CENTURY ART AND DESIGN FAIR (NYC20) 1stdibs TO SPONSOR NYC20 SET TO DEBUT WITH FORTY 1stdibs DEALERS APRIL 12-15 2012, AT TENT AT LINCOLN CENTER, DAMROSCH PARK ON NEW YORK’S UPPER WEST SIDE

1stdibs and Dolphin Promotions will join forces to present the inaugural New York 20th Century Art and Design Fair (NYC20), which opens on April 12-15, 2012, at the Tent at Lincoln Center in Damrosch Park, on New York’s Upper West Side, it was announced by Rosemary Krieger, president of Dolphin Promotions.

“We are thrilled to bring this exciting new concept and event to New York,” said Krieger. “NYC20 will bring together many of the most celebrated 20th century dealers in one of the most vibrant and energized art and design markets in the world. And we are so pleased to have the support and encouragement of Michael Bruno, founder of 1stdibs.com, the world’s largest online luxury marketplace for high-end antiques, 20h century design, estate jewelry and fine art, with whom we have had such a longstanding and successful relationship.”

Celebrating the iconic designs of the 20th century NYC20 will feature stunning presentations by 40 carefully selected international exhibitors – exclusively from 1stdibs- - each showcasing curated exhibitions of decorative and fine arts from all design movements of the 20th century including furniture, lighting, sculpture, paintings, jewelry, silver, glass, ceramics, photography, textiles, prints, and vintage clothing and accessories. 1stdibs will promote the event, garnering support from this event to its influential list of prestigious clients and collectors.

An early buying preview party benefiting the Bard Graduate Center: Decorative Arts, Design History, Material Culture will be held on Thursday evening, April 12, and is expected to draw serious collectors, designers, investors, and museum curators. The show opens to the public from Friday, April 13 through Sunday, April 15. The venue at Lincoln Center, located at West 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues in the fashionable and easily accessible Upper Wide Side neighborhood of New York, is a gorgeous climate-controlled tent with hard walls and flooring. It is one of the largest event sites in Manhattan, and has become an established location for some of the city’s most celebrated events, including the American Ballet Theatre Gala, New York Philharmonic Gala, and HBO’s Sex in the City party.

Dolphin Promotions also organizes the San Francisco Art and Design Show & Sale (SF20/21) which benefits the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Palm Springs Modernism Show benefiting Modernism Week, Los Angeles Modernism Show benefiting P.S. ARTS, and the Los Angeles Antiques Show, as well as antique shows held in Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami.
