Photo London is a unique festival of photography, centred around a major international photography Fair featuring over 80 exhibitors. Running over five days in the spectacular and historic surroundings of Somerset House, the Fair showcases the broad range of photographic practice, from vintage to contemporary. Photo London also features an innovative public programme supported by the LUMA Foundation, which includes talks and lectures, exhibitions, performances and installations.

In 2015 the exhibition programme featured Sebastião Salgado’s Genesis in Platinum, Kaveh Golestan’s series Prostitute and Beneath the Surface, an exhibition of rarely seen works from the Victoria & Albert Museum’s collection. There were specially commissioned installations by Rut Blees Luxemburg and Sohei Nishino and an evening programme of music and photography in the form of the Deadhouse Sessions.

Photo London is produced by Candlestar, an internationally renowned cultural consultancy with an outstanding reputation within the field of photography and the arts. Candlestar produces the Prix Pictet on behalf of the Pictet Group.

‘At a time when so many of us are using our smartphones to capture images of the people and sights around us, we shouldn’t forget photography’s significance as a long-lasting art form. There is an incredibly rich variety of photography, both historical and contemporary and it is wonderful to see a new international photo festival in London.’ Boris Johnson, Mayor of London

A high level Advisory Board advise on the development of Photo London. They play a key role in the development of the various networks on which Photo London depends. The Advisory Board are committed to establishing Photo London as a major event in international art world calendar.
