The collection encompasses furniture and decorative arts from early American colonial life and includes exemplary pieces of Pilgrim century and William and Mary furniture, as well as one of the greatest collections ever assembled of early English delftware. The Vogels also acquired exceptional examples of 17th-century English silver, 16th- and 17th-century brass lighting, English and American needlework, French and Indian powder horns, and early colonial American maps. Separate release attached

The week of sales concludes on 24 January with a dedicated offering of Fine Manuscripts and Printed Americana, comprising a remarkable group of highly important and valuable historical manuscripts, books, maps, and artifacts spanning more than five centuries.

Works from all three sales are now on view in Sotheby’s York Avenue galleries, alongside our dedicated auctions of furniture and decorative objects from the Collection of Nelson & Happy Rockefeller (18 January) and the Important Separate releases available
