The Venice Glass Week e Comune di Venezia presentano Murano Illumina il Mondo

Il vetro di Murano incontra l’arte contemporanea internazionale in piazza San Marco! Nel salotto più bello del mondo, dal 24 novembre 2023 al 29 febbraio 2024, dodici eccezionali opere d’arte illuminano le volte delle Procuratie Vecchie. Murano Illumina il Mondo è il progetto promosso dal Comitato Organizzatore di The Venice Glass Week e Comune di Venezia che punta i riflettori sul vetro di Murano e il suo futuro. Dodici rivisitazioni del classico chandelier Rezzonico hanno visto al lavoro altrettanti artisti di fama internazionale e nove tra le più prestigiose fornaci muranesi. Tradizione, innovazione e sperimentazione si sono fusi, proprio come il vetro, per dare vita a un intervento di arte pubblica unico al mondo. Murano Illumina il Mondo è reso possibile grazie alla generosità di artisti e fornaci che hanno creduto nel progetto e alla collaborazione di numeri sponsor e partner, tra cui: Pentagram Stiftung, Chahan Interior Design Generali - The Human Safety Net, Bassetto Impianti e Select Aperitivo. Murano glass meets international contemporary art in St Mark’s Square - the most beautiful drawing room in the world - where, from 24th November 2023 to 29th February 2024, an exceptional series of artworks illuminates the vaults of the Procuratie Vecchie. The project, titled Murano Illumina il Mondo (Murano Lights Up the World"), is promoted by the Organising Committee of The Venice Glass Week and Comune di Venezia, with the aim of shining a spotlight on the significance and future of Murano glass. The exhibition features twelve artistic reinterpretations of the classic Venetian Rezzonico chandelier, designed by twelve internationally celebrated artists and realised by nine of Murano’s most prestigious glass furnaces. Murano Illumina il Mondo has been made possible thanks to the generosity of the participating artists and furnaces and the collaboration and contribution of numerous sponsors and partners, including: Pentagram Stiftung, Chahan Interior Design, Generali - The Human Safety Net, Bassetto Impianti and Select Aperitivo. The Venice Glass Week: il Comitato Organizzatore è al lavoro per realizzare l’ottava edizione
The Venice Glass Week 2023 è stata un grande successo: la settima edizione #TheArtofFire ha registrato numeri incredibili e il festival internazionale dedicato all’arte del vetro, in dieci giorni - da venerdì 9 a domenica 17 settembre - ha attirato a Venezia, Murano e Mestre 152.000 visitatori che hanno preso parte a oltre 250 eventi distribuiti su 140 location. Ma ora, è tempo di guardare avanti: il Comitato Organizzatore - composto da Comune di Venezia, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini – LE STANZE DEL VETRO, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti e Consorzio Promovetro Murano - è già al lavoro per realizzare a regola d’arte l’ottava edizione di The Venice Glass Week 2024 che si terrà dal 14 al 22 settembre! Il processo di candidatura si aprirà in primavera. The Venice Glass Week: The Organizing Committee is working to realise the eighth edition
The Venice Glass Week 2023 achieved some truly remarkable numbers! The seventh edition of the international glass festival, #TheArtOfFire, took place from 9th – 17th September over the course of 9 days, featuring over 250 events in 140 different venues around Venice, Murano and Mestre, attended by a record number of 152,000 visitors from Italy and abroad!

But now, it's time to look forward: the Organising Committee - made up of Comune di Venezia, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini – LE STANZE DEL VETRO, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano - is already hard at work on the artful realisation of the eighth edition of The Venice Glass Week 2024 to be held from 14th to 22nd September!
