THE ARMORY SHOW ANNOUNCES AN OUTSTANDING LIST OF INTERNATIONAL GALLERIES FOR ITS 2014 EDITION

A Dynamic Selection of New and Returning Galleries Will Further Solidify New York in March as the Finest Destination to Experience the Best of the Global Art Market

NEW YORK – The Armory Show 2014, in its sixteenth edition, will host over 200 galleries from 29 countries exhibiting an array of significant modern and contemporary works. The 2014 fair, taking place March 6-9, will coincide with the opening of the Whitney Biennial, further establishing March in New York as a key moment on the international art world calendar. In line with its mission of providing an intelligent, dynamic platform for emerging and established galleries, The Armory Show will devote a special section of Pier 94 to a curated exhibition of contemporary art from China entitled Armory Focus: China. The fair will also launch the inaugural edition of Armory Presents, a new section devoted to solo and dual artist presentations by galleries less than ten years old. In its commitment to connoisseurship, The Armory Show – Modern has established a formal Selection Committee of leading dealers to help shape museum-quality presentations that touch upon many major movements of the twentieth century. The full list of participating galleries is available below.

The fair is divided into two main sections. The Armory Show – Contemporary, housed on Pier 94, welcomes returning exhibitors David Zwirner (New York, London), Sprüth Magers Berlin London (Berlin, London), Galerie Eva Presenhuber (Zurich), Massimo De Carlo (Milan, London), Lisson Gallery (London, New York, Milan), GALLERIA CONTINUA (San Gimignano, Beijing, Le Moulin), Kerlin Gallery (Dublin), Marianne Boesky Gallery (New York), Luciana Brito Galeria (Sao Paulo), Sean Kelly (New York), Victoria Miro (London), Praz-Delavallade (Paris), and Sies + Höke (Dusseldorf). An excellent roster of new exhibitors includes Lehmann Maupin (New York, Hong Kong), Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac (Paris, Salzburg), Almine Rech Gallery (Paris, Brussels), James Cohan Gallery (New York, Shanghai), Sikkema Jenkins & Co. (New York), Galería Elvira González (Madrid), Galerie Peter Kilchmann (Zurich), Edwynn Houk Gallery (New York, Zurich), 1301PE (Los Angeles), Aurel Scheibler (Berlin), Galeria Nara Roesler (Sao Paulo), Alison Jacques Gallery (London), Galleria Lia Rumma (Milan, Naples), Ratio 3 (San Francisco), CRG Gallery (New York), and Zach Feuer Gallery (New York).

The Armory Show – Modern on Pier 92 is dedicated to international dealers specializing in historically significant 20th century works. Returning exhibitors include Marlborough Gallery (New York), Galerie Thomas Modern (Munich), Galleria d'Arte Maggiore G.A.M. (Bologna), Alan Cristea Gallery (London), Marc Selwyn Fine Art (Los Angeles), Simon Capstick-Dale Fine Arts (New York), James Goodman Gallery (New York), Pace Prints (New York), Michael Rosenfeld Gallery (New York). The Armory Show is New York’s leading fair for modern and contemporary art. A seminal event in the annual New York arts calendar, the fair spearheads Armory Arts Week, a city-wide program of cultural events and exhibitions. Once again, the fair will comprise an acclaimed VIP program, a lively opening night benefit party at the Museum of Modern Art and the engaging Open Forum discussion series. Next year’s edition will also coincide with the opening of the 2014 Whitney Biennial in early March, further enhancing the line-up of Armory Arts Week events planned in partnership with New York’s cultural institutions, and attracting a wide scope of international collectors, curators, scholars, and press. For the third year running, the fair will be designed by Brooklyn-based architects Bade Stageberg Cox. Key enhancements include a refined floor plan, a more fluid connection between the Modern and Contemporary Piers, a fresh graphic identity, and improved amenities and dining options.

Further highlights for the 2014 Edition include:

Curated Booths
