12/ Crafts Council project/
The Design Curio program returned to Basel for a second year and featured a range of interesting and unique exhibitions. A Future Made presented Nature Lab – a collaboration between The British Crafts Council and London gallery The New Craftsman which showcased the work of six craft talents. Each artisan took their inspiration from nature and utilised radical new techniques to create their works. The end result was an environment that evoked a sense of wonder and entrigue within the fair. 13/ R & Company/ New York based gallery R & Company presented a range of contemporary and classic pieces at this year’s Design Miami/ Basel all against a backdrop of vibrant blue. The standout piece presented was a 1950s Chaise Lounge by Swedish furniture designer Greta Magnusson Grossman that was commissioned by Sherman/Bertram.

14/ Hess Vintage Cars/
This year saw the first inclusion of collectible cars at Design Miami/ Basel. A real French automotive specialists Hess Classic present a special exhibition focusing on Italian car design from the golden era of the 1950s to 70s. The presentation included the world’s first ‘supercar’, a Lamborgjhini Miura as well as a Ducati Moterbike from the 1970s.

15/ Audi VIP Car Service/
Continuing its support of Design Miami, Audi again this year provided the VIP car service for the fair. An integral part of the VIP programme, Audi and its band of drivers continued to provide a perfect service throughout the week of Design Miami/ Basel.
