Madrid, 13 December 2023 - ARCOmadrid, organised by IFEMA MADRID, celebrates its 43rd edition from 6 to 10 March with the Caribbean at its centre. The extremely high quality of projects submitted by galleries guarantees a first-class artistic experience. The exhibition will showcase the current international art scene in a broad dialogue with Spanish art. Across five days of discovery and exploration, and with the presence of new international galleries, ARCOmadrid will be a benchmark for the visibility and introduction of artists, fostering an active market and promoting knowledge of art.

ARCO, together with the city of Madrid, will focus the attention of galleries, artists, collectors, curators and other professionals, institutions, museums and art centres from all over the world, representing a unique experience for all visitors.

A total of 207 galleries from 36 countries will convert Madrid into the international capital of contemporary art. for the 43rd edition, 172 galleries make up the General Programme, in addition to the curated sections: ‘the shore, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean’, with 19 galleries; Opening, with 16, and ‘Never the same. Latin American art’, with 12 galleries.

This year, the participation of Spanish galleries represents more than 35% of the fair, with a total of 73 galleries. In turn, the international segment accounts for more than 64% -134 galleries-, and of this, 30% represent Latin American, with the participation of 40 galleries from 13 countries, with a special presence from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. It includes as a research theme, ‘The shore, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean’, curated by Carla Acevedo-Yates and Sara Hermann, which proposes, through a careful selection of artists and galleries, a possible reading of the complex and fertile intersection between land and sea that emerges from and towards the shore. In a space specially designed by Ignacio G. Galán, Arantza Ozaeta and Álvaro Martín Fidalgo, 19 galleries will take part, including Hutchinson Modern & Contemporary, Monique Meloche, Patron, Praise Shadows Art Gallery, Tern Gallery, Espacio Mínimo and Helga de Alvear.
