A significant Russian gilded silver and cloisonné enamel goblet and cover by Fedor Ruckert, Moscow, dated 1906, h 36 cm

A present of Tsar Nicolas II and Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna (born Princess Alice (called Alix) of Hesse and Rhine) to her brother the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig (called Ernie) of Hesse and Rhine. A German inscription at the base "In remembrance of St. Petersburg for Ernie from Nicky and Alix 1906". Tsar Nicolas II was also a second cousin of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig. The very fine enamel work shows et al. Tsar Nicolas II as a falconer in a red coat. Marks: Kokoshnik head with assay master Ivan Lebedkin. Maker's mark of Fedor Ruckert. 88 tsolotnics/1410g.

Provenance: In the seller's view the goblet came to Denmark to the Danish relatives (Royal Court) of the Romanovs after the revolution. (Tsar Nicolas mother e.g. was née Princess of Denmark.)

Later the goblet was sold to an important Swedish private collector.

Paintings

Master of the Legend of Saint George / Master of the Passion of Lyversberg. Cologne, ca. 1460-1490. "Ecce Homo", Mixed media/oak, dimensions 72 x 49 cm.

The painting has been examined by the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum & Fondation Corboud. A written Protocol by Dr. Roland Krischel is available (Cologne, WRM, 25.10.2007).

A Baroque brass mounted walnut, plum and bog oak bureau cabinet, c. 1765. This piece of furniture is published in Kreisel/Himmelheber, Die Kunst des deutschen Möbels, vol. 2, no. 1077, measures 185 x 116 x 67 cm.
