On 10 January, Design Shanghai successfully held its press conference at Fotografiska Shanghai, announcing the official launch of Design Shanghai 2024. Over the past decade, Design Shanghai has showcased over 2,500 design brands from more than 30 countries, bearing witness to the rapid development of Chinese design and becoming a crucial platform for promoting global design innovation and exchange. The eleventh edition of Design Shanghai will be held from 19 to 22 June 2024, at the Shanghai World Expo Convention & Exhibition Center, inviting audiences from home and abroad to embark on a new era of design.

As Design Shanghai embarks on its second decade, we are delighted to unveil a visionary perspective on the future of design. 2024 marks a significant milestone for Design Shanghai, as we expand our range of product categories, a development reflected in our new visual identity. We embrace a full spectrum of colors in our creative approach this year, symbolizing the diversity and vibrancy of the design sectors we represent. Our new creative features elegantly oversized lettering in a responsive, reflective material, representing the progressive spirit of Design Shanghai. Central to our visual theme is the dragon, an iconic symbol of Eastern heritage, reimagined this year with an iridescent texture that resonates with dynamic energy and innovation.

A New Era with Four Halls: Showcasing Unmatched Global Design Excellence

This year marks a significant expansion for Design Shanghai, as we proudly enhance our existing 3 Halls - Furniture & Lighting, Kitchen & Bathroom, and Living & Lifestyle - with the much-anticipated addition of Hall 4, New Materials & Applications. This expansion positions Design Shanghai as a pivotal event for exploring the synergy and balance between Eastern and Western design philosophies, boasting an expanded scope and a more diverse array of exhibitors. The event is set to offer a rich tapestry of unique initiatives including groundbreaking features, thought-provoking forum and workshops, and an array of engaging design events. Design Shanghai 2024 is dedicated to leading the charge in global design innovation, providing an enriched, multi-dimensional design experience.

The Sustainable Design China Summit 2024 will take place in Hall 4 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Center, coinciding with Design Shanghai from 19-21 June 2024. This relocation signifies a joint commitment to fostering new advancements in sustainable development. The summit will center around six pivotal themes: "Retail Renaissance: Mall Culture and Sustainability", "Well+good: Positive Impact Hospitality", "The Economics of Climate Change", "Beyond Buildings: Urban Sustainability and Smart Cities", "3D Printing in Design", and "Future Space: Where Technology and Sustainability Meet". These discussions are integral to shaping a sustainable future through the lens of innovative design.

Global Design Luminaries Converge at Forum Stage: Decoding "The New Universal Language of Design"

The Kohler Exquisite · Design Shanghai Design Forum has always been the main stage for intellectual exchanges during Design Shanghai. This year's forum, themed "The New Universal Language of Design," will feature distinguished thinkers and authoritative figures from the global design community to discuss the universal language of design.
