Artissima — the most contemporary art fair in Italy — will return in Torino from 1 to 3 November. The unique character of Artissima stems from its dual approach, combining a market proposal at the highest level with a wide range of special projects, both in town and at the fair, as a result of the collaboration with exceptional partners and prestigious cultural institutions, to explore and redefine the contemporary art scene.

The Underground Cinema
The collaboration between Intesa Sanpaolo and Artissima continues with the third edition of the moving image project hosted at Gallerie d’Italia – Torino. The exhibition The Underground Cinema, curated by independent curator Irene Calderoni, includes video works by artists represented by galleries participating in Artissima, many exhibited for the first time in Italy. The featured artists include Pauline Boudry & Renate Lorenz (Ellen de Bruijne Projects, Amsterdam), Alice Bucknell (IMPORT EXPORT, Warsaw), Stephanie Comilang (ChertLüdde, Berlin), Pauline Curnier Jardin (ChertLüdde, Berlin), Valentina Furian (UNA, Piacenza), Lungiswa Gqunta (WHATIFTHEWORLD, Cape Town), Beatrice Marchi (Federico Vavassori, Milano), Lili Reynaud Dewar (Layr, Vienna) and Silvia Rivas (Rolf Art, Buenos Aires).

The work fosters a unique dialogue between Artissima and the Museo, sector of Direzione Cultura e Commercio della Regione Piemonte, addressing crucial contemporary themes through the lens of contemporary art. The same themes are also reflected in the museum’s visit itinerary, enriched by its extraordinary collections. WHERE: Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali di Torino (Via Accademia Albertina, 15)
WHEN: 30 OCT–4 NOV

Raised in the Dust
Artissima, in collaboration with Città di Torino, presents Raised in the Dust by artist Andro Eradze (SpazioA, Pistoia) at the former Zoo of Torino – Parco Michelotti. Through a poignant critique of human actions that are in these cases toxic and often fatal to wildlife, the film reframes the fireworks as a portal into the dark, mythological realm of the forest — a world inhabited by plants, animals and ghosts.
WHERE: former Zoo of Torino – Parco Michelotti (Corso Casale, 43)
WHEN: 29 OCT–4 NOV
